Maybe you've seen them maybe you have not. Users and Bots who slide in your DMs

They have several strategies but they often join just to spam users DMs with "deals" about art (99% a scam).

What have I done to stop this?

Stopping it is not 100% proactive and most users want you to play Discord's user filter (pick who is naughty and who is nice). This is not really fair to put on Cimmarian as a community or it's Moderation.

So the route taken after many considerations is simply stopping DMs being open. You might ask "Wait you are controling who we can talk to!?" Nope.

"Only bots, members who have already exchanged or are friends and staff will be able to receive DMs"

This beats systems like a Capcha as this leads to other issues from disability or lack of knowledge knowing how to get past a Capcha or maybe it just fails.

This being said your DMs are still your responsibility (Not Moderation or Cimmarian) so DMing users and sending or recieveing information is a choice that Cimmarian is not making for you so please take that into consideration when accepting friend requests from anyone you don't know.
