What Gamers Thought

  1. I got this game in the humblebundle and bought the first DLC on sale.
Destiny 2 is a game that gives you a lot of things to do in its world, Story missions, raids, pvp, etc.
The game is visually stunning even on my SLI GTX 770, really optimized.
The story could use some improving. DLC is a bit expensive.
Gameplay is nice, solid FPS controls.
I love that you can customize and unlock armor and weapons.

  2. Destiny two as a whole, with the recent dlc update, is a very graphically pleasing to the eye game that captured my interest and hasnt let go.
The characters are fun and engaging.
The story, while it is something that has been done to death, is still a very fun and engaging one. I personally love to watch as the characters slowly rise back up to challenge the big baddies.
The different varieties of weapons are ASTOUNDING! Ranging from common to exotic, the latter of the two feels the most weighty to me as a player, they feel like they could take on a whole army of enemies. One example is the sniper rifle ‘whisper of the worm’, a very powerful sniper rifle that returns ammo to your clip if you land three headshots back to back.
The music. The music is some of the most beautifully scored that I have ever listened to. I myself sometimes just sit down and listen to the whole soundtrack.
The end game content is some of the most fun that I have experienced in a long time. There is so much to do inside of them such as grinding gear, weapons, or even things called catalysts that upgrade your exotic weapons to even greater heights.
It even resets every tuesday so you can keep trying for certain items.
Free cosmetics. You can earn FREE cosmetics. From ships, to emotes, to ghost shells, to ornaments that change how your weapons and exotic items look. And all you have to do is grind to the maximum level cap and keep grinding until it gives you a free item that gives you a chance to receive something. Or if you want, you can use a currency called bright dust to buy things directly from the store, and you can even earn bright dust by completing missions for the specific vendor or by scrapping cosmetic items.
Destiny 2 is frequently given free content updates that arent just for players that have the latest dlc OR a content pass, its free for everyone!
The rag dolls and graphical glitches. Those are just fun for everyone and their family.
While the beginning story IS good, it can feel a bit short if you just power right through it without stopping. Sure it can be finished within a few hours of grinding through it, but I always found myself taking my time through it, so I didnt really notice until I started to review it.
The level grinding can sometimes feel like a chore. Sure its fun to beat up big baddies, but at some point you get a bit tired of the grinding.
The same thing that I said for level grinding can be said for the cosmetics. Sure there might be a cool item that you want from it, but who knows if you will get it right away. Its a bit of an RNG thing that annoys most everyone.
The exotics. I know I said the exotics are some of the coolest in the game, but they can be one of the BIGGEST hassles to get. There is no word to describe how annoying it is to get every exotic that you want. Sure there is a vendor that appears every week from friday to monday, but even then there is no guarantee that you will get the one you want, so every time it feels like a hail marry when you are searching for the last few that you need.
The console exclusive weapons. Even I find this really annoying and cant overlook it. During destiny two’s life cycle, there was a sniper called the broealis, that can CHANGE its element type. Sounds over powered against certain things, right? Well heres the thing, Sony got first dibs on it and a few other things during the beginning year of destiny two’s life, and the rest of the community sadly had to wait a full YEAR for it to be released to the rest of the platforms.
The beginning dlc was sadly one of the most abysmal dlc’s that destiny had ever released. Its main mechanic was built up as this really cool thing, but was never made the focal point for it, leading to a lot of spurned players.
The way they make people have to go to LFG sites or make people make friends in order to complete certain types of content is kind of annoying to me, mostly because I for one dont really talk to people that often and usually LIKE to keep to myself like some players do.
All in all destiny 2 as a game, is probably one of my top ten favorite games that I still play today.

  3. The game looks beautiful, sounds great and has an okay(ish) story. Basically thats all the game has to offer. I would give more points on the content part if
    A) Bungie wouldnt bs the players with console exclusive content
    B) The game wouldnt force u to play with a team to get better equipment
Anyways, I enjoyed the story, but after I finished it, even the dlcs, not the newest one, the game had nothing to offer and became boring. GG Bungie
